Learn to Knit Cables - Cabled Beanie
Instructor: Christina Baggesen
Dates: Thursday, April 17th and 24th - 6:30 to 8:00pm
* Class Prerequisite - Hat brim (single or double) must be knit prior to the first
class in preparation to begin the cable portion of the hat.
* In addition to class time, you will be required to complete knitting homework in preparation for the following weeks class.
The mere mention of cables often puts the look of fear on the faces of those who’ve never knit them before. However, rest assured they’re nothing to fear, and once you’ve learned them, you’ll be wondering why you didn’t try them sooner. So, it’s your time. During the 2 evenings of instruction, Christina will teach you how to confidently knit cables while making a beautiful cabled beanie.
Skills Required; Basic knitting skills (cast on, knit, purl, and knitting in the round).
The class fee includes the following supplies;
Copy of the Thornbury Beanie designed by Jenn Hansen
1 - 100gm skein of Malabrigo Rios in the colour of your choice
1 pack of U-Shaped cable needles
Additional class supplies that are required (not included) and available for purchase if needed;
- Stitch Marker
- Darning Needle
- 4mm and 4.5mm 16” Circular Needles OR size needed to obtain gauge.
* Please note our sample was knit on 4.5mm and 5mm circular needles…and we were very happy with the results.
- Pom Pom (Optional)

All participants must register online and pay in full in order to reserve your spot. Classes must have a minimum of 4 registered participants in order for the class to run. Should a class be canceled due to lack of interest, you will be notified in advance and be issued a full refund.
