Emotional Support Chicken Class (Knit)

Dates: Thursday March 27th, April 3rd and 10th - 6:30 to 8:00pm
* In addition to class time, you will be required to complete knitting homework (approx. 45 mins per night) in preparation for the following week’s class.
In the words of the pattern designer “Life is Hard. We all need a chicken to help make it better!”. Come knit a chicken with Christina, and join the 9764 people who’ve knit and posted their fabulous, fun, unique and emotionally supportive chickens to Ravelry. During the 3 evenings of instruction, you will work through all the required skills and steps for knitting and assembling your emotional support chicken, including; W & T short row shaping, cable cast on, and single crochet. You’re completed chicken will be the perfect addition to your Spring and Easter decor.
Skill Level; Adventurous Beginner to Experienced Knitter
Skills Required; Basic knitting skills (cast on, knit, purl, K2tog, SSK, KFB and bind off).
The class fee includes the following supplies;
Copy of the Emotional Support Chicken pattern designed by Annette Corsino
113gm skein of Briggs & Little Regal 100% wool in the colour of your choice
*Alternate acrylic yarn option available if required100yd mini skein of worsted weight yarn (stripes)
Required amounts of red and yellow worsted weight yarn for the beak, comb and wattle
100gm of polyester stuffing
1 pair of 15mm safety eyes
Additional class supplies required (not included with the class) and available for purchase if needed;
- Removable stitch markers
- Darning needle
- 4.5mm 32” circular knitting needle
- 5mm crochet hook
